En mi trabajo actual acudo a lo figuarativo desde lo irónico para tocar diferentes temas que me conmocionan y que están relacionados a los sentimientos evocados por las vicisitudes de mi entorno. Los prejuicios sociales y los conflictos incómodos innerentes a la moralidad son algunos de los detonantes que me llevan a producir parte del trabajo que continúo desarrollando en la actualidad.

A través de mi obra, construyo un dispositivo político que me permite generar reflexiones sobre los planteamientos actuales de la identidad de género, las diversidades y el prejuicio. Mi trabajo nace de la urgencia de nombrar realidades históricamente invisibilizadas por la "incomodidad moral" del canon social hetero-normativo; realidades que han sido moldeadas por décadas de censura frente al legítimo derecho a la plenitud de quienes integramos la comunidad LGBTIQ+.

Mi práctica se fundamenta en la cerámica de alta temperatura como material medular. A través de ella, desarrollo esculturas híbridas entre lo real y lo surreal, lo posible y lo mitológico. Estas obras operan como espejos que interpelan al espectador, invitándole a cuestionar la raíz de su incomodidad ante la individualidad del otro, la autonomía del cuerpo ajeno y la diversidad de orientaciones e identidades.En última instancia, mi producción hace énfasis en los sistemas de rechazo y discriminación que atraviesan los cuerpos disidentes, con un enfoque crítico y profundo en las vivencias trans.

In my current work, I approach figurative art through an ironic lens to explore various themes that move me deeply and are connected to the feelings evoked by the vicissitudes of my surroundings. Social prejudices and the uncomfortable conflicts inherent in morality are some of the catalysts that drive me to create the work I continue to develop today.

Through my work, I construct a political framework that allows me to generate reflections on current approaches to gender identity, diversity, and prejudice. My work stems from the urgency to name realities historically rendered invisible by the “moral discomfort” of the heteronormative social canon; realities that have been shaped by decades of censorship against the legitimate right to fulfillment of those of us who are part of the LGBTIQ+ community.

My practice is grounded in high-temperature ceramics as a core material. Through it, I develop hybrid sculptures that straddle the real and the surreal, the possible and the mythological. These works function as mirrors that challenge the viewer, inviting them to question the root of their discomfort with the individuality of the other, the autonomy of the foreign body, and the diversity of orientations and identities.

Ultimately, my work highlights the systems of rejection and discrimination that dissident bodies face, with a critical and in-depth focus on trans experiences.
